TO OUR PREGNANT PATIENTS:
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recommended avoiding eating the following fish types due to high mercury levels:

Shark
Swordfish
King Mackerel
Tile Fish

Other commonly eaten fish that you can eat up to 12 ounces (about 2 meals)per week are:

Shrimp
Light tuna
Salmon
Pollack
Catfish

Albacore (white) tuna has higher mercury levels than canned light tuna.
